Burrington update in a nutshell

Well, obviously it's been a while since I've updated here...a lot of changes have happened!

  • We have moved!!  After 4 warm and fun years in AZ, we got the call to get back to Missouri.  We really had to think about it, it wasn't an easy decision.  We had made some great friends, enjoyed the weather and were just feeling settled.  We are excited to be back though, only a 3 1/2 hour drive to Sarcoxie to see old friends and family!!  We picked a wonderful area that is full of kids the boys ages, they are playing outside more now than they have their whole lives.
  • Cooper is now a first-grader!  He had an excellent year in Kinder and made the "principal's list" all four quarters, straight A's and no behavior issues.  He got perfect attendance except for the last four days he missed due to the move.  He's excited to start at a new school in August and make new friends.
  • Tucker turned THREE!!  Where has the time gone??  His birthday fell mid-move, but he doesn't know otherwise.  Once we got to the new house he got a "big boy bed" and is growing up more and more every day.  We love to see him do more, but sure do miss him being our "baby".

Tucker update

I can't believe how fast Tucker is growing up! He is talking so much, and has quite a memory for a two year old. The other day he got a hold of my phone and wanted to see the pictures I had taken. As we scrolled through, I asked questions about each one and he could remember when/where and why it was taken. I was sure impressed.

He is also able to have conversations with us now, which is so much fun to keep asking him questions to see what his response will be! The other night we were in the car and he was trying to ask JP something, Cooper kept interrupting and Tucker told him "Cooper, I'm trying to ask dad about it". He's such a little man.

Now we just need to get him potty trained and lose the pacifier!!

Cooper update

Cooper is doing great in school. At a recent assembly they gave out honor roll awards and perfect attendance, Cooper got both! He has been on the Principals Honor Roll (all A's) all year and now is up to Bronze level, if he makes it all year, he will get the gold one...he's working hard to make it happen. We can check his grades online, and every few weeks he will ask to check to make sure he is on track.

We had student-led parent teacher conferences last week. Cooper told me prior to going that his teacher told the class they had to "tell the truth" about what happens in class. We got a great report from Cooper (and his teacher agreed). Afterwards, he told me he was worried about that, it's never a good thing when your parents and teacher get together! Ha, where does he come up with this stuff??

We are so proud of him!!!

Christmas--part two

We had a great time while in Missouri. We got to see so may friends and family members! JP's sister and her kid made the trip from Florida, it was super great to see them again this year!! We also got to meet our new niece Kinsley, and a new cousin Morgan. The boys had a blast playing with everyone and they got attached to the new babies in the family.

Christmas--part one

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Since we are going to Missouri for Christmas again this year, we got a fax from Santa that he is coming to our house early!! They boys are super excited, but they are both upset that Skippy (our elf on a shelf) will be leaving early. Going through the pics I realized I didn't get any of them opening gifts this morning, but they were both super excited to get their new toys, books and bikes.
Once the excitement of the day was over, we had to get in gear and pack up the car to head to Missouri to spend Christmas with our families.

JP did a great job getting us there safely!
Cooper was glued to the Star Wars movies playing.
Tucker played Mario on the DS the whole way there and back!

what you gonna be??

Tucker has been obsessed with Halloween. He loved seeing all the decorations, spiders, cob-webs, ghosts and scary guys. We went with some friends to Schnepf Farms again this year and went on a haunted train ride. The boys both freaked out, but Tucker loved it at the same time. He still asks when we can go back to "nep farm" and see scary guys in the tunnel. He also doesn't understand the dressing up part either. Now it's been over a week since halloween, he is still asking "what you going to be?". He always has the same answer: Cooper be a "wocker (rocker), I be Tuck Turtle, mom be Thomas and dad be Percy". We have the discussion at least twice a day still. He's so much fun!!!

Lets party!!

Today we had a party at the park for Cooper to celebrate with his friends. We invited all the kids in his class...but only a few of his buddies were able to make it. We also had some great friends we have known for years come celebrate with us too! There was a group that had horses at the park, JP and Tucker went over to see the horses and the guy said he would give all the kids a ride on the pony. They all thought it was super fun!! He had a great party, thanks to everyone who came!
